You'll review provider documentation and assign accurate codes that hold up to payer and compliance scrutiny — protecting revenue and reducing denials across specialties we support.

Keyresponsibilities.

  • Review SOAP notes and clinical documentation for coding
  • Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes with correct modifiers
  • Apply NCCI edits and payer-specific guidelines
  • Query providers on incomplete or unclear documentation
  • Support denial resolution with coding reviews
  • Stay current on annual code and guideline updates

Requiredskills.

  • ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS Level II coding
  • Modifier usage and NCCI edits
  • Anatomy, physiology and medical terminology
  • E/M leveling guidelines
  • Compliance and documentation auditing
  • HIPAA and coding ethics

Preferredqualifications.

  • CPC, CCS or CCA certification required (or actively pursuing)
  • 1+ year of professional coding experience
  • Specialty experience in pain, chiro, ER or behavioral health is a plus
